The shares have risen 30% since bottoming out at 134p last year. They have further to go. Buy

ITM Power floated in 2004 with the tantalising promise of developing hydrogen fuel cells. The growing demand for efficient forms of renewable energy has placed great pressure on ITM to succeed. But so far no one is helping pay for the development work. That has been left to shareholders. ITM presents a convincing case for its technology but it still has someway to go. Listed at 50p, the shares have been volatile, reflecting progress, or lack of it, at various times. At this stage they remain one for investors happy to take a punt on a renewable energy company finding a commercially successful product. Speculative buy

Hax: Don't tacitly support your teen's self-doubts

Carolyn: My 14-year-old daughter has had quite a year of changing hairstyles. She had beautiful long blond hair, which she chose to cut very short several months ago. Then she dyed it black. Then she wanted it colored lighter. That took three trips to the salon at $80 to $100 per trip, which I reluctantly paid for. Now her hair is long enough to cover her neck but doesn't touch the shoulders, and she has asked for hair extensions. The salon says ballpark $120.Side note: This summer she started wearing black rings of makeup around her eyes where previously she had applied makeup very tastefully. I said I would pay for extensions if she would stop the Tammy Faye raccoon makeup. Now she is in her room and angry with me. I thought your insight here could steer me in the right direction - or you could fillet me like a mackerel.TANGLED FATHERSince there's a good chance she's still in her room, be a good fish and go upstairs to apologize. You already know the reason, since, assuming you weren't raised on Planet Man and imported to Earth just to witness this hair drama, you know that matters of physical appearance are never just matters of physical appearance.Your daughter is troubled.

Saints stars go out on loan

SAINTS' financial problems came back to haunt them yesterday as they off-loaded star striker Grzegorz Rasiak and midfielder Rudi Skacel.

Czech Skacel has gone to Bundesliga side Hertha Berlin on loan for the rest of the season with a view to a permanent move.

Prolific Polish hitman Rasiak has joined Bolton on loan until the end of the season with a view to a permanent move.

Rasiak and Skacel were two of the club's top earners. Raziak was believed to be on around £12,000 a week and Skacel is also on top wages.

That saving in wages, combined with the potential fees for the two most expensive purchases in the Saints squad, proved too much for the cash-strapped club to turn down.

Saints tried to put a brave face on the deal by saying it was also a way of easing the log-jam of strikers' but in reality it was another massive dent to their promotion hopes.

Despite Move to MP3s, DRM Will Haunt Record Labels

Under Sony's new plan, consumers would purchase a credit-card-like ticket from Best Buy, Target, Fred's, Winn-Dixie or other outlets. The cards will have a number that must be entered into the MusicPass site, where the full album can be downloaded.

"The MP3 files delivered through MusicPass play on computers, as well as on all MP3 players, including iPods," said Thomas Hesse, a Sony BMG sales president. "This makes them a simple, easy-to-use solution that will appeal to fans who already access their music on the internet, as well as to consumers who are just getting into the digital realm."

Nearly two weeks ago, Warner Music Group, another of the Big Four music concerns, announced it would make its entire selection available on Amazon.com in the MP3 format. That followed other DRM-removal announcements earlier in 2007 from Universal Music Group and EMI, which licensed its catalog to Apple's iTunes Store to sell in the unrestricted MP3 format.
